Why Tenerife tourists can be fined over £1,000 for simple act

Tourists visiting Tenerife have been warned they could be fined more than £1,000 for a simple act. Two locals were recently fined €1,000 (£855) each for feeding pigeons in public places on the Canary Island. Canarian Weekly reported that feeding pigeons in public is against the rules of the Municipal Ordinance regulating the Protection and Ownership of Animals in Santa Cruz.
